How to use live market insights

This guide explains how to use Ravio’s live market insights to track real-time trends in salary increases, hiring, and attrition across various industries and regions.

Overview

Ravio’s Live Market Insights provides a high-level view of current market dynamics. This tool is essential for understanding how broader economic trends—such as shifting hiring rates or industry-specific salary growth—impact your organisation’s compensation strategy

Prerequisites

  • Permission Level: Admin, Manager, Recruiter or Market Analyst with benchmarking access.

  • Data Status: No internal data upload is required to view these market-wide trends.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Access Live Market Insights

Navigate to the external benchmarking section of the platform to view the latest data.

  • Go to Explore the market in the left-hand sidebar.

  • Click on Live market insights.

Step 2: Set your filters

You can "crunch" the data to suit your specific needs by adjusting the primary filters at the top of the page.

  • Location: Set this to All for a global view, or select a specific country like the United Kingdom or Germany.

  • Compare by: Choose to segment the data by Job function, Industry, Funding stage, or Headcount.

Step 3: Review compensation and headcount trends

The page provides three primary metrics, each showing a rolling 12-month comparison

  • Annual salary increase: Tracks how much salaries have grown across companies in the market.

  • Attrition rate: Shows both voluntary and involuntary employee departures

  • Hiring rate: Displays the rate of new talent joining the market to help you gauge demand.

Step 4: Compare across functions or industries

  • Toggle between different views to see which sectors are leading the market.
  • For example, comparing by Job function allows you to see if Engineering salaries are rising faster than Finance or Data roles

  • Switching to Industry lets you compare trends in E-commerce, Fintech, or Technology (General).
