Ravio’s Workforce Analytics tool provides an external view of benchmarking data, allowing you to see how headcounts and payrolls have changed across the market over time. This feature is essential for HR leaders to analyse company structures, inform headcount planning, and ensure payroll budgeting aligns with industry standards.

Data needed: Employee mapping must be completed to see your company's comparison.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Access Workforce Analytics
To begin your market analysis, navigate to the external benchmarking section of the platform.

Navigate to Explore the market in the left-hand menu.

Click on Workforce analytics.
Step 2: Analyse headcount distribution
The default view shows how headcount is distributed across different departments or job families in the market.

Use this data to understand common organisational structures within your peer group.

Compare your own company's distribution (shown as a benchmark line) to see if your team sizes align with the market average.
Step 3: Toggle to payroll analytics
If you are focused on financial planning, you can switch the view to see compensation trends.

Click the Payroll toggle at the top of the analytics pane.

Review the distribution of Base salary within the market to inform your budgeting and forecasting for the upcoming year.
Step 4: Filter by career track
To get a more granular view, you can segment the data by seniority levels.

Use the filters to explore by Job family or specific Career tracks, such as Support, Professional, Management, or Executive.

Tip: Most tech companies find the majority of their headcount sits in the Professional (IC) track; use this view to see if your management-to-contributor ratio is healthy compared to your peers.
