How to add manual benchmark overrides

If you need to change your benchmarks, you can apply a manual override to them

Overview

Ravio’s 'Scenarios' feature allows you to build and test different compensation models without affecting your live data. By creating a scenario, you can experiment with different market percentiles, geographic locations, and level structures to ensure your compensation strategy remains competitive.

Prerequisites

  • Permission level: Admin only

  • Data needed: Access to the 'Bands' section of Ravio

  • Integration status: Active data sync or manual upload completed

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Create a new scenario

  1. Navigate to the Bands menu in the sidebar and click Scenarios.

  2. Click on the blue Add a scenario button in the top right corner.

  3. Select Start from active bands from the dropdown menu.

  4. Type a name for your scenario – such as ‘Manual benchmark overrides’ – and click the Create scenario button.

Step 2: Access the edit menu

  1. Click on your newly created scenario from the list to view it.

  2. Navigate to the Edit section in the left sub-menu to view your compensation philosophy, band groups, locations, levels, and ranges.

Step 3: Adjust your settings

While in the edit menu, you can update the following settings to build out your scenario:

  • Compensation philosophy: Update your target market percentiles and set your overall compensation strategy.

  • Band groups: Change how your job titles are organised.

  • Locations: Change your geographic pay locations.

  • Levels: Change the level structure you are using.

  • Ranges: Modify the spread of your salary bands, adjust the minimum, midpoint, and maximum values, and set up your rounding rules.
