How to upload existing salary bands to Ravio

This guide explains how to upload your organisation's current salary bands from an offline spreadsheet into Ravio for comparison and analysis.

Overview

Ravio allows you to bring your own compensation data into the platform. By uploading existing salary bands, you can evaluate your internal pay structures against Ravio’s real-time market benchmarks within the Scenarios tool.

 

Prerequisites

  • Permission Level: Admin only

  • Data needed: An offline spreadsheet (Excel or Google Sheets) containing your current salary bands

  • System setup: Employees should already be mapped to job titles in Ravio

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Select the upload track

Navigate to Bands > View in the left-hand sidebar. Select the Add existing bands option to begin the registration process.

Step 2: Register your band groups

You must match your offline band structure to your Ravio setup.

  • Click Begin next to Band groups.

  • Click Add band group and enter the name exactly as it appears in your offline Salary bands (e.g., "People team").

  • Select the relevant job titles from your HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to include in this group.

  • Click Save and close.

Step 3: Map your band locations

Define where these bands apply to ensure geographic accuracy.

  • Click Begin next to Band locations.

  • Select Add band location and name it according to your offline Salary bands (e.g., "United Kingdom").

  • Assign the specific employee locations from your HRIS that fall under this band.

Step 4: Download and complete the template

Once groups and locations are registered, you need to provide the specific salary figures.

  • Click Begin next to Band ranges.

  • Click Download bands template.

  • Open the file and enter the minimum, midpoint, and maximum salary values for each band. You can also include variable pay ranges if applicable.

Step 5: Upload and finish

Return to Ravio to finalise the process.

  • Upload your completed template and click Save and finish.

  • Ravio’s team will be alerted to process your data.

Note: It typically takes one week for the Ravio team to upload these bands into your account. Once ready, they will appear under Bands > Scenarios.
