Prerequisites
Use either an owner or admin type account to complete the connection flow. Employment Hero restricts the available endpoints by account level and restricts which employees can be read (e.g., employees can not see owner information).
You can check this by going to your account name in the top right corner and confirming that you can see the ‘Developer Portal’.
If you cannot see this option please reach out to your Employment Hero admin to either grant you this access or for them to pick up the rest of the onboarding.
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1 - Create a new Employment Hero Application
Sign in to your Employment Hero instance and go to your Account Menu in the top right of the screen. Then click on Developer Portal.
Once in the Developer Portal, go to ‘Add Application’ on the left.
Now the Application Creation screen is open, go back to the Ravio onboarding flow and make sure to copy over the Application Name and Redirect URL to Employment Hero.
Step 2 - Copy over the Required Ravio Scopes
Now we need to assign the ‘Required’ scopes from Ravio into Employment Hero. The full list is present in the Ravio Onboarding Flow. We need to make sure all of these scopes are selected in Employment Hero.
Make sure you are copying the list that is in your Ravio onboarding flow rather than the image below as there is a chance they will be different.
❗ Make sure to select both ‘employees:list’ scopes.
Once all scopes are added you can click ‘Create’.
Step 3 - Copy the Client ID & Client Secret
Now we need to go back into ‘View Application’ and copy over the Client id and Client secret from your new Employment Hero application. These are pasted into the Ravio Onboarding flow as shown.
Step 4 - Sign in with your Employment Hero Account
The last step is signing in with your Employment Hero account. Once completed this will generate a success message.
