Integration settings guide

Help Ravio ensure we're mapping the right data from your HRIS integration.

Why are we asking you these questions?

To be able to correctly map your data the first time, we need to know where you store specific information in your HRIS.

This ensures that when you log into Ravio, your data is correct first time.

1. Employee locations

What are we asking?

How is the location of the employee stored in your HRIS? Do you store the employee’s working location as a separate country and city, or together in one field for the location.

e.g. Workplace = Paris Office

Why does Ravio need this?

To be able to accurately and relevantly benchmark your employee compensation, we need to know where each of your employees is located.

How do I answer this question?

Select which option is relevant to your data, and enter the HRIS field name/s in the text box that appears.

2. Organisation structure

What are we asking?

Which field do you use to signify the Department in your HRIS. Also, do you use any other organisational fields such as Team or Cost center.

Why does Ravio need this?

In Ravio, you are able to configure specific fields to use as filters when looking at your own employee’s compensation.

The Department question is mandatory, as we need at least one field showing organisational structure. The other fields are optional, selecting them will add these fields as filters in Ravio.

How do I answer this question?

Enter the name of the field in your HRIS you use to store the employee’s department. Then any others that are relevant to your organisation, select and also enter the field name from the HRIS.

3. Employee visibility

What are we asking?

Which of your employees should be visible for your users to review in Ravio.

e.g. Should contractors be visible to users? Should working students?

Why does Ravio need this?

Customers have different requirements when managing compensation in Ravio. We ask this question to ensure that your experience using Ravio matches your requirements exactly.

How do I answer this question?

Simply toggle on which groups of employees you would like to be visible in Ravio.

The default settings selected are the visibility settings used by the majority of Ravio’s customers. These are that recent terminations and future joiners are visible, and contractors, working students, interns and employees on leave are not visible.

If there are any other groups of employees that you would like to exclude, please list these groups in the text box at the bottom of this question.

e.g. Please exclude all US-based employees.

4. Full and part-time employees

What are we asking?

How do you store part-time base salaries in your HRIS?

Why does Ravio need this?

Ravio’s base salary benchmarks are based on full-time salaries. Therefore any part-time salaries that we receive via the integration we need to ensure these are scaled up to the full-time equivalent to ensure we are comparing apples to apples.

How do I answer this question?

If you already store the full time salary for your part time employees, then select that option.

If you store the actual salary, you will be prompted with a question detailing which field you use to indicate what proportion of full time your part-time employees work. Please provide that information, along with the field name from your HRIS.

5. Holiday Allowance

What are we asking?

In some markets, it is common to pay employees an extra percentage on top of their base salary. This is called Holiday Allowance.

Why does Ravio need this?

To ensure that our benchmarks are accurate we need to know whether our customers firstly pay holiday allowance, and secondly whether we need to add that value on ourselves or whether it’s already included in the salaries in your HRIS.

How do I answer this question?

If you pay holiday allowance, you will be prompted to indicate whether your salaries in your HRIS include or exclude this extra payment.

Then you can select which markets this is relevant for, and what holiday allowance you pay in each market from the options: None, 13th month or 13th & 14th months.

6. Variable pay

What are we asking?

We need to know if variable pay information (i.e. employee bonus plans or commission plans) is stored in your HRIS. If so, we need to know how this is stored so we can process this correctly for our benchmarks.

Why does Ravio need this?

Ravio’s benchmarks include total cash and total compensation benchmarks. To be able to accurately provide this to our customers, we are able to pull this variable pay information directly from your HRIS to ensure accuracy.

How do I answer this question?

Do you store variable pay in your HRIS? If yes, there will be some follow up questions:

  • Do you store the “Target” values or the “Actual” payments? Ravio only accepts the Target values as this is what our benchmarks are based on.
  • Then a question asking how the variable pay is stored and for any relevant field name/s.
  • Finally, we need to know what time period the stored data is relevant to (e.g. is this a monthly commission target or an annual bonus amount?).

7. Special fields

What are we asking?

Are there any other fields aside from those mentioned above that Ravio should be aware of when mapping in your integration data.

Why does Ravio need this information?

This is a catch-all question that ensures we don’t miss anything!

How do I answer this question?

Feel free to leave this blank if everything has been covered above. Otherwise please list any field names or describe any customisation that we should be taking into account when setting up your Ravio instance.
