How to integrate with UKG Ready

Integrating UKG Ready with Ravio allows for the seamless, automated syncing of your employee compensation data. This guide provides the technical steps required to establish a secure connection between the two platforms.

Overview

By connecting UKG Ready, Ravio can automatically pull real-time data on salaries, job titles, and levels. This eliminates the need for manual CSV uploads and ensures your internal analysis and market benchmarking are always based on your most up-to-date records.

Prerequisites

  • Permission level: You must be an Administrator of your UKG Ready instance.

  • Access: Ensure you have your Ravio account open in a separate tab to copy and paste integration credentials.

  • Integration status: This is a one-time setup process to activate the automated data flow.

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Identify your URL domain

Ravio needs to know where your specific UKG instance is hosted.

  1. Log in to your UKG Ready account.

  2. Copy your entire Dashboard URL from the browser address bar (e.g. https://secure.ukgready.com/ta/acme.home).

  3. Paste this full URL into the connection flow in Ravio.

Step 2: Create a security profile

You need to define what data Ravio is permitted to access.

  1. In UKG Ready, navigate to Settings > Profiles/Policies > Security.

  2. Click New Security Profile.

  3. Enable View permissions for the following sections:

    • REST API Resources: Employees, Employee Demographics, and Payroll.

    • Employee Management: HR Custom Values and Base Compensation.

    • Global Setup: Cost Centre Definitions.

  4. Save the profile with a recognisable name, such as ‘Ravio Integration Profile’.

Step 3: Create an OAuth application

This generates the secure ‘handshake’ between the two systems.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Global Setup > Company Setup.

  2. Tip: If you cannot see ‘OAuth Applications’, click the Edit Tabs icon to add it to your view.

  3. Click Add OAuth Application.

  4. From the dropdown menu, select the Security Profile you created in Step 2.

Step 4: Finalise the connection in Ravio

  1. In the OAuth Application screen, click Generate Secret.

  2. Copy the Client ID and the Secret Key.

  3. Important: Click Save in UKG Ready first to commit the changes.

  4. Return to the Ravio integration page, paste the Client ID and Secret, and click Set up integration.

Troubleshooting common connection issues

Issue Resolution
Invalid Client ID/Secret Ensure you clicked ‘Save’ in UKG Ready before trying to connect in Ravio. If not, the credentials will not be active.
Missing Data Fields Revisit Step 2 and ensure all required ‘View’ permissions are enabled for the Security Profile.
URL Error Make sure you included the full path (e.g. including the /ta/... portion) of your UKG URL.
